Hello guys! Today, I have a beauty post for you, which is also kind of a review of three beauty products from Bobbi Brown - their foundation, corrector and concealer. But first, let me tell you how it even came to buying these products.
Bobbi Brown has never been one of the makeup brands I would be actively searching for. They opened their first store here in Slovakia a while ago, in one of our shopping centres. The store is located right across from the first Slovakian MAC store.
I went to BB once, but did not buy anything - my friend did though. I went to MAC instead and bought a couple of things. The price was much better and I the employees were ready to help me right away, consult with me, give me tips.
The second time I went into Bobbi Brown was when I was contemplating buying their corrector, about which I have heard great things (for example from Charles Gross who mentioned it in this video). However, when I went in, there was just one employee there, who was doing the makeup of some other customer and did not even greet me. When people who should be there to sell you something act like this, it's such a turn off for me!
However, after I ran out of my old concealer (you can guess where I got it from) and wasn't very satisfied with it, I decided to try going in for the third time and getting the corrector, finally, even though it was a little pricier than I would like, for such a tiny thing. Even this time, I was not so happy with the service that was provided. One of the employees went out as soon as I came in, the other was not very friendly, I must say.
You know, when I go into a store like Bobbi Brown, I expect to be pampered. If not pampered, I would at least expect not to have to lead the whole conversation. The overall feeling I got was that the employee was not in a good mood and that she wanted to get rid of me, not even really being interested in selling me anything.
Since I realised that I was running out of foundation as well, I ended up buying one from Bobbi Brown anyways, because I wanted to test something new. And I also got a concealer, since the only thing the employee told me that concealer should be worn over a corrector and Bobbi Brown had a nice set with powder in it.
Now, that was quite a review of the buying experience and the store and it's employees. Now to the review of the products themselves.
Overall, I think that these are a great choice for taking pictures, photoshootings.
What do I mean by that? I think that these products look better on pictures than they do in real life.
Before using the corrector, it is necessary to use moisturising cream. Then, apply the corrector, then wait, apply the concealer and then pat on some powder. Then you can apply foundation.
These are the steps which the employee from Bobbi Brown has told me and which I always followed when applying these products. However, this is not optimal when you are in a hurry. It can cause the products to crease under your eyes and that does not look good. Other than that, they are not very lightwear. On the other hand, the foundation is pretty lightwear but can be layered for a better coverage if needed.
Corrector in Porelain Peach: I think that the corrector covers pretty well, but also depends on which kind of undereye circles you have. It covers discoloration pretty well, however, does not cover the lines as well. What I mean are the skin lines from the inner corner of the eye to the cheek. I think that a good corrector should do that - especially for this price (cca 30 Euros for 1,4g - you can buy it here). Other than that, it seems kind of heavy to me. If it were a little more creamy, watery, it would be much more formable and would be better for my skin.
Creamy concealer kit v Beige & Pale Yellow: This product I am quite happy with. If I have spot for example and do not need to use the corrector, I just slap on some of this concealer over it, pad on some of the powder, which is part of the kit and and spot is almost invisible! However, I feel like you have to really dig in to get the amount you need and that I am going to run out of this product very, very soon. Or rather the concealer part of it. Which would be a shame, since it costs around 40 euros for 1.4g and 1.7g. You can buy it here.
Long Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15 Beige 3: Now here, the title of the product is not lying at all - because if this foundation does something really well, it's the even finish. It is also pretty long-wear without being too heavy on the skin. With some moisturising cream underneath, your skin can breathe pretty well and look even and polished at the same time. Now this one I recommend, if you are looking for a good new foundation which looks great in real life and photos as well and are not on a tight budget. It goes for a little more than 50 Euros (30 ml). You can get it here.

Ahojte! Dnes mám pre vás beauty post, ktorý je zároveň tak trochu aj review troch produktov od Bobbi Brown - ich makeupu, korektoru a concealeru. Kým však prejdem na popisovanie jednotlivých produktov, chcela by som vám aj trochu objasniť ako som sa k nim teda dostala.
Bobbi Brown nikdy nebol jednou zo značiek, ktorú by som aktívne vyhľadávala, napríklad ako MAC. Prvý obchod bol otvorený v Auparku pred nejakou dobou, myslím že v rovnaký čas ako prvý obchod značky MAC tu u nás.
Raz som do BB síce vkročila, ale vtedy skončila s niečím od nich len Viktorka a to konkrétne s rúžom. Ja som išla do MACu a nakúpila som si čo-to. Ceny sa mi zdali prijateľnejšie, zamestnanci boli hneď k dispozícii a "ready to help", konzultovali so mnou, dávali mi tipy.
Druhý krát som zavítala do Bobbi Brown keď som zvažovala či od nich kúpim korektor, o ktorom som počula veľmi dobré veci (napríklad Charles Gross ho vychvaľoval v tomto videu). Keď som však vošla do obchodu, bola tam len jedna slečna zamestnankyňa, ktorá sa práve venovala malovaniu inej klientky a ani ma nepozdravila. Sorry, ale vojdem niekam, kde mi majú chcieť predať svoje produkty a správajú sa takto, je to pre mňa strašný turn off. Vtedy som sa otočila na podpätku a bez slova som odišla.
Ale keďže sa mi pred nedávnom minul môj starý concealer (môžete trikrát hádať, odkiaľ bol) a nebola som s ním až tak spokojná, rozhodla som sa navšítiviť Bobbi Brown po tretí krát a skúsiť šťastie s ich produktom. Napriek tomu, že bol trochu drahší ako by mi prišlo v norme za taký maličký produkt. Ani tentokrát som nebola zrovna nadšená zo servisu, ktorý mi bol v obchode poskytnutý. Jedna zo zamestnankýň odišla práve vtedy, keď som ja vošla dnu (a nezabudla ma zrámovať akýmsi vozíkom ktorý vyvážala práve z predajne a ešte sa tvárila že je moja chyba že jej stojím v ceste) a druhá slečna ktorá vošla do obchodu tiež nebola veľmi priateľská.
Neviem či mám príliš vysoké nároky, ale keď vojdem do obchodu ako je Bobbi Brown, očakávam, že ma budú hýčkať. Predsa len, nejedná sa o lacné produkty za pár šupov, ale o drahú kozmetiku. A keď už nie hýčkaná, tak by som aspoň očakávala, že nebudem musieť viesť celú konverzáciu ja. Celkový dojem z predavačky bol taký, že fakt nemala náladu sa s niekým baviť a chela sa ma zbaviť čím skôr. A záujem mi niečo predať mi teda jednoznačne chýbal.
Keďže som si uvedomila, že mi míňa aj makeup, tak som si predsa len kúpila jeden odtiaľto, pretože som chcela otestovať niečo nové. A takisto som zobrala concealer, keďže jedinú vec, čo mi slečna poradila bolo to, že na korektor musí ísť ešte aj concealer a celé to treba zapudrovať. A keďže Bobbi Brown robí set concealer - púder, zobrala som aj ten.
No, ale už aby som prešla na recenziu produktov ako takých a nerozprávala tu len o mojich negatívnych zážitkoch s predavačkami ..
Celkovo si myslím, že všetky tri veci sú super na fotky, photoshootingy. Čo tým myslím? Chcem tým povedať, že podľa mňa vyzerajú lepšie na fotkách, ako naživo.
Pred použitím korektoru je nutné použiť trochu moisturising (nenapadá ma slovenský ekvivalent tohto slova) krém. Potom čakať, naniesť si korektor, potom zas čakať, naniesť concealer a nakoniec ho prikryť púdrom. Potom si môžete dať makeup.
Toto sú kroky, ktoré mi povedala slečna z Bobbi Brown a ktoré som teda nasledovala každý krát keď som používala tieto produkty. Nie je to optimálne, keď sa človek ponáhľa. Ak tento proces robíte narýchlo, môže sa vám stať, že concealer a korektor vyzrajú oveľa rýchlejšie tak popraskane, že sa neusadia dobre pod okom ale vrstvia sa do vrások. Okrem toho nie sú veľmi "lightwear". Makeup však lightwear je, ale ak chcete väčšie krytie, môžete ho pokojne vrstviť (napríklad na fotenia).
Corrector v Porcelain Peach: Myslím, že korektor kryje pekne, ale ide aj o to, aký typ kruhov pod očami máte. Zafarbenie zahaľuje skvelo, ale napríklad tie čiary, ktoré idú od vnútorného kútika oka až takmer po líčko, veľmi dobre nezakryje. Myslím si, že dobrý korektor by mal zakryť aj to - hlavne za tú cenu (cca 30 eur za 1,4g - kúpiť ho môžete tu). Okrem toho mi príde celkovo taký ťažký. Keby bol trochu menej krémový a trochu viac tekutý, sedel by mi viac a dal by sa pri nanášaní lepšie formovať.
Creamy concealer kit v Beige & Pale Yellow: S týmto produktom som celkom spokojná. Ak mám napríklad vyrážku, nemusím ani použiť korektor, proste nanesiem trochu tokto concealeru, pacnem naňho trochu púdru a vyrážku takmer nevidno. Zdá sa mi však, že z neho treba nabrať veľa produktu na to, aby zakryl a preto sa obávam, že sa mi celkom rýchlo minie. Čo by samozrejme bola celkom škoda, hlavne pri tej cene, ktorá sa pohybuje okolo 40 eur. Môžete ho kúpiť tu.
Long Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15 Beige 3: No tu názvom naozaj neklamú - pretože ak niečo robí tento makeup vynikajúco, tak je to práve ten "even finish", teda rovnomerný výsledok. Pleť vyzerá byť krásne zjednotená. Vydrží aj dosť dlho a nie je pleti ťažká. Keď si pod ňu dám moisturising krém, moja pleť môže pekne dýchať a zároveň vyzerá byť krásne porcelánová. Tento produkt odporúčam, ak máte záujem investovať do dobrého makeupu a nechcete na makeupe šetriť. Pri cene okolo 50 eur za 30 ml produkt to totiž asi nie je možné. Môžete si ho kúpiť napríklad tu.
